Til Next Time, Megan Monique The Burlesque Experience 10/07/2011
Happy Friday Rainbow Riders! Today I have some very exciting news to share. Earlier this year, my friend Lisa Carmen created a Burlesque training workshop that she calls The Burlesque Experience. Since I first heard of this, I wanted to be a part of it. However, the money just never quite lined up right for me to be able to work it into my schedule + afford to give Lisa what I know she deserved for hosting such an amazing experience. In the first class, I watched my friend Ashleigh, or should I say, Moxie LaVeau kick some serious ass on stage. Now, I am happy to say that it is my turn to rock the stage. What's the best part about it? My home-girl Heather will be rockin' it with me! Through this 6 week process we will be creating our character, choreographing our dance, picking our costume + much more. On November 18th Heather + I will make our BIG reveal in a one-time LIVE performance in Deep Ellum. + yes. I plan to blog my journey through this course, right here. Are you ready? It's gonna get naughty + nasty up here. + well, vulnerable, honest + sassy too. 4 Comments Great Goddess Interviews: Jilian McDermott 10/04/2011
What part of nature do you feel most connected to? Animals are my biggest connection, non-domesticated; they are intuitive creatures that can teach us a lot if we listen to the intuitive context/language. I have had certain animals or insects come to me(some continually) at certain points in my life, I see them as spiritual guides or signs. What do you feel has been your greatest achievement so far in life? Graduating Nursing school from Arizona State. It took me 7 years to just get there, working 60 hours a week, being a single mom. I got accepted to an elite fellowship program that was accelerated, competitive and brutal. When all was said and done I thought "Holy (expletive) I made it, on my own, with my tribe supporting me all the way" A huge weight lifted off my shoulders knowing I could take care of us (my daughter and I) on our own; I was officially a grown-up, mmm no not really :) Tell us one strange-ish fact about yourself... I had ghosts for friends when I was little, I didn't say they were ghosts, I just told my mom and my sister they were dead and they talked to me and we were friends. As an adult, I am extra sensitive to " energy shifts" in my surroundings, some people call it intuitive or just plain crazy (which ever is your preference). I dont talk about it much. Its something that those close to me know already because they can feel it & sometimes see it. What do you feel is your current 'big life lesson'? You know, the one you keep having to learn over and over. Letting go...Letting go of the past, the future, my expectations, control, fears, worry, my pain, attachments.... Letting go of stuff, even negative stuff that has been with me for so long is scary and painful, even when I want to let go of it, it is still really hard to actually do it...for good. In November of this year, I will have officially been working for myself for One Whole Year. Wowza. If there is anything I have learned so far it is that there is no destination. Well, there is. But once you reach it, another appears. Having your own business means growing, changing, reaching higher, moving in new ways + e x p a n d i n g. It means Living in the Questions. Although, I suppose the same applies to life in general. Here is what my next New Year holds for you + me:

What do you feel has been your greatest achievement so far in life? I think my greatest achievement is getting where I am right now. So much has happened where I could have just given up, but I kept fighting, I kept going. I'm here, I have scars but I'm whole. If you were reincarnated into an animal, which one would you be and why? I would probably be a cat. I have a real affinity with cats. I tend to prefer their company over other pets. They're deep thinkers like I am. What part of nature do you feel most connected to if at all? I feel most connected to the shore. Like, to the beach and the waves. I was on vacation in Denmark where we drove up the coast and I was able to stand on the shore of the North Sea. My first real experience with such a vast body of water. The tranquil sound of the surf and the beauty began my love affair with the sea. What do you feel is your current 'big life lesson'? You know, the one you keep having to learn over and over. I think my lesson is that I don't have to do it all alone. It's OK to lean on others to find strength, to find comfort, to find love. So many events in my life have shown me I'm not alone and I'm not as strong as I think I am or as strong as I let others think I am. Asking for help, leaning on friends is nothing to be ashamed of, your friends WANT to help you, they want to be needed. Who is your favorite person in the Twitterverse and why? My favorite person in the Twitterverse is @simadahl. She has become a mentor for me. By just being who she is she's helped me realize I'm worth more than I give myself credit for. Tell us one strange-ish fact about yourself... I can recite all 50 states in alphabetical order, blindfolded, with my hands tied behind my back. I can also place all 50 states on a map... I'm good with geography. Abundant wellspring of wisdom 09/22/2011
A couple of weeks ago I asked one of my Soul Session Passioneers to write me up a testimonial for our time together. What I got back in return was a vibrantly unexpected gift. I loved what she had to say so much that I thought I would share it with you here. Enjoy. Rori Lieurance Says... I have been wondrously blessed by the Soul Session Goddess!! Each blessing has been nothing short of amazing, so I want to try to tell you how wonderful Soul Sessions are--although I expect mere words will fail to convey the whole succulent truth--but here goes: Megan possesses a deep, abundant wellspring of wisdom that allows her the unique and fantastic ability to reach into your soul, root around amongst the junk that you have stored up there, and find the priceless gems that you had forgotten all about (or never realized actually existed). She then presents to you these gems, revealing for you the magnificent preciousness that is truly yours. Next, she shines your soul gems for you, polishing them with love and light and insight, and showing you ways to care for and nurture your gems so that they never again get buried underneath useless junk. With a gentle and steady hand, Megan conducts Soul Sessions down a revelatory path that allows you to see in yourself what her wise eyes have already seen in you--brilliance. Then she kindly and graciously holds up a mirror for you so that you can finally see your beauty and brilliance the way she sees it. This moment will totally change your life-- So what are you waiting for? There's nothing to be afraid of! Megan will hold your hand all the way--she won't let you stumble or fall--and she won't let go until your new wings are strong enough to fly. | ♥ Subscribe here ♥Hello There Love! I'm Megan Monique.
